MIDLOTHIAN – A thousand acres of land southwest of Dallas and purchased by the Hanover Property Co. is expected to be the site of thousands of new homes.
The $950 million development will include single-family homes, townhouses, and commercial and industrial construction. Early 2022 is the scheduled date for when the first of the new homes will be occupied.
Ben Luedtke, executive vice-president of Hanover Property, said in a statement that his company has been working with the City of Midlothian for the last year on the planning of the development.
“The city is a great partner, and the result is the first true master-planned community of this size in Midlothian,” Luedtke said. He added that the development has “substantial tree coverage, gentle rolling hills and a 50-acre lake.”
“We will thoughtfully enhance the natural beauty that is already in place,” Luedtke said.
Homes reportedly will start at more than $300,000, with 350 residences in the initial wave of construction.
