During the COVID-19 global pandemic, the lack of personal protective equipment in nations around the world is becoming a reality.

Several clothing companies, such as the Harbor Group, are stepping up and changing their production lines to make personal protective equipment to assist in helping with the shortage.

The Harbor Group is a family-owned business that is based out of Irving, and has changed things around to help create the PPE there is a need for. Typically, the Harbor Group makes athletic gear but with the global coronavirus spread, Harbor Group began to re-route its business to make PPE.

“We saw a large effort across the United States of people trying to make masks at home," Miguel Juraidini with Harbor Group told WAVY. "We felt like we could make a big difference if we put our expertise, our materials and our facility to make masks on a larger scale, more of an industrial-type operation.”

Since the company re-routed its efforts, it has started working with getppe.org to find medical facilities in need. They pair businesses like Harbor Group with facilities in need around the world.
