Tito’s Handmade Vodka recently gave out 44,000 bottles of free hand sanitizer to Dallas residents in a continuation of their free distribution to local residents in Austin, where they are based, and before that to frontline workers across 30 states.
The Dallas Observer reported that Tito’s has given hand sanitizer to more than 500 organizations just in Texas. In a news release, Tito’s stated that each vehicle was to receive three 375 ml bottles of hand sanitizer.
The hand sanitizer was distributed by way of a contactless drive-thru. Participants received the hand sanitizer by either opening their trunks or unlocking doors to permit a member of Tito’s staff to place the hand sanitizer in the vehicle without coming into contact with occupants.
Although the hand-off didn’t involve contact with vehicle occupants, everyone in the vehicle still had to have a mask on and remain in the vehicle in order for Tito’s staff to provide them free hand sanitizer.
The statement also said that Tito’s was ready to accommodate bikes and pedestrians, though individuals had to be at least 18 years old to receive hand sanitizer.
