B.U.I.L.D. (Broaden Urban Investments to Leverage Dallas) has announced that they are making grants available that are valued at up to $3,000 each. These grants are intended to help businesses and organizations that have been adversely affected by the coronavirus pandemic. The pandemic has had negative effects on small businesses and organizations throughout the nation due to restrictions and closures that have been prompted by the pandemic and government officials' attempts to slow the spread.
There are a few criteria that a business will have to meet to be eligible for the grants. The first of which being that they must have fewer than nine employees. In addition, businesses will need to have a 2019 payroll that totals less than $250,000. Eligible businesses will be considered for a one-time grant of $3,000. The funds are intended to be used for rent, utilities, payroll, inventory, and other expenses. Specifically, the BUILD program is hoping to help minority-women-owned businesses in the Dallas area. Applications are open now and will close on Nov. 24.
