CITY OF DESOTO: November 28th: Partial COVID Update From Dallas County, the State of Texas and Multiple News Source

Update

City of Desoto issued the following announcement.

On Saturday, November 28, 2020, Dallas County reported 982 New “Real-Time” Coronavirus cases s covering the afternoon and evening of November 25th up to Thanksgiving. On Sunday Dallas County will release the case totals for the remainder of the holiday weekend.

The late figures from 25th into the holiday included 4 new deaths including 1 in DeSoto. Our latest loss was a man from DeSoto who was in his 80’s.

The late figures included 739 confirmed cases and 243 probable cases. Probable cases are from Laboratory confirmed Antigen tests and they have become a part of the standard reporting totals from Dallas County, the CDC, and many other states and metropolitan areas: https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#cases_totalcases

Dallas County officials are hopeful that residents took the consensus advice from the nation's top medical officials to limit the number of Thanksgiving guests to that family that they live with, but won’t know for sure for one to two more weeks when cases would likely appear. Thank you to everyone who has been making sacrifices to keep your family and all those around them safe.  Please keep following the medically proven anti-COVID protocols of wearing a mask in public, maintaining a 6-foot social, frequently washing your hands, and by avoiding crowds and people without masks.
