Lake-Moreno Partners will kick off construction of the redevelopment of 40,000 square feet in Downtown Cedar Hill on January 13 at 4 p.m. The downtown project will transform historic buildings at W. Belt Line Road and Broad Street into a mix of restaurant, retail, and office spaces, creating a magnet for entertainment and investment opportunities. The project will also have a residential component to make it an all-in-one place. The new concepts and designs will bring new energy to the area while maintaining the authenticity of Historic Downtown. Construction on the first phase began in November.
“We’re excited to bring our knowledge and experience gained from projects we’ve done throughout DFW to this development in downtown Cedar Hill,” shares Amanda Moreno-Lake. “I see so much potential for the area and am pleased to be part of revitalizing it to create a new destination that will draw people from other cities.”
The January 13 event will celebrate milestones over 20 years in the making. The City of Cedar Hill is also wrapping up construction on the first phase of street improvements downtown to activate the public spaces in the downtown area. The capital improvements include upgrades to infrastructure and technology to stay connected, wider sidewalks where the community can explore downtown on foot, and additional landscaping highlighting Cedar Hill’s natural beauty.
“The Cedar Hill community has always worked to protect and preserve downtown as a vibrant place that is both rooted in our past and essential to our future,” says Cedar Hill Mayor Stephen Mason. “Making this kind of investment into a historical area would not be possible without the collaboration and support of everyone in the downtown area, especially our business community that has invested in downtown for decades.”
Matt Chappel, Historic Downtown Advisory Board Chair, added, “We appreciate the past, present, and future businesses who continue investing in the area, and we’re excited to share this exciting milestone with them.”
